| Oslo gave themselves a 6 point lead to take back to the UK after the first leg of the European Cup Final. Ove Dalasen hit double figures although the real star was reserve Alexander Bengtsson, who only missed out on a maximum when falling in his 5th ride. The pair received good support down the order, although they probably expected more than 4 points from Rudi Juritzen. For Wolston Steve Edgar and Maciej Tercjak scored well and they used their tactical changes to good effect to make sure the gap remained low with the home leg to ride. |

| It took Wolston just 6 heats to level the aggregate scores and they never looked back as they dominated this meeting to be crowned European Champions with some ease. As with the first leg Steve Edgar and Maciej Tercjak led the way but the support from the main body of the side made them almost unstoppable with Struthers and Golden paid for 10 each and Bradley Foster adding another 7. Even at reserve Markus Schupp made a useful contribution as their stranglehold on the trophy got tighter and tighter. For Oslo Ove Dalasen started well and Rudi Juritzen also reached double figures, perhaps if the latter had ridden as well in the home leg they could have made more of a contest of things? But there was no doubt at the end that Wolston were worthy winners to add another quick trophy to the UL title they won the previous weekend. |
